Bluto™ is a division of the award-winning technology professional services
firm DeKemper & Associates LLC. A company with established Web sites throughout
the United States, Europe and Asia, Bluto provides its award-winning content
and services via the Web, wireless devices, broadband, radio and print. Our
respected brand portfolio includes Ready-Set-Go! for Enterprise Information
Systems, Business
Intelligence Monthly, Bluto Basic, Bluto Product, and Bluto Sports. This privacy
policy applies to the U.S. operations of all brands and services within the
Bluto family.
Overall privacy statement
We take your privacy VERY seriously.
Our overall policy statement maybe summarized very simply: “We never share
your individual information with anyone nor do we accept advertisements of any
kind to be displayed on the primary bluto site (www.bluto.net : referred to later
as “the Bluto Site”). If you experience a violation of this policy
or feel that any Bluto hosted site is not adhering to this strict policy please
report it immediately using the link at the bottom of the page you are viewing
(“Ask a question, Comment or Report a problem with this site.”).
Sites found to be in violation of Bluto’s Privacy Policy are subject
to immediate suspension.
Because we gather certain types of information about our users we want to help you understand the terms and conditions surrounding the collection and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses the types of information we gather, how we use it, and how to correct or change it. These privacy practices apply not only to the web site that you were viewing when you clicked through to this policy, but also for all sites displaying the Bluto Privacy link within it's web page footer or those operated by us directly, our partners, or our affiliates.
Bluto's Advertising Policy
Bluto DOES NOT accept, solicit, display, condone or encourage the use of web
advertising vehicles of any kind (banner ads, pop-up windows, or click-thru
messages) on the Bluto site. It is a principle which is fundamental to our
business model and it's what makes us unique when comparing other web sites
and hosting models to Bluto. We DO NOT BELIEVE that our site users and site
customers should endure web advertisements in order for your company, organization,
or sports league to host a professional quality web site. In short, you can
be assured that your information WILL NEVER be shared with advertisers of
any kind because WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY ADVERTISING OF ANY KIND TO BE DISPLAYED
ON THE BLUTO SITE (www.bluto.net). PERIOD!
Some of our customers may have elected
to display advertisements on their individual site that is hosted by Bluto.
Such a decision
is made by the company,
organization or individual who owns the site - not Bluto, it affiliates, partners
or the operations of DeKemper & Associates LLC. Generally, these organizations
display web advertisements in order to offset the cost of general operations-
and may choose to share ONLY their particular site visitor aggregate information
with their advertisers. Aggregate information is limited to summary web traffic
statistics like hits, navigation or web referral information or summarized
information gathered by site users who have granted their expressed, written
consent to utilize this information. Sites utilizing Bluto to host their web
sites ARE PROHIBITED from selling, disclosing or revealing any of your individual
information that was collected through the use of the Bluto. (For example:
name, email address, personal address, etc.)
1. What information does Bluto collect?
Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with
the best and most useful content and services. Because we derive revenue
mainly from providing hosting services FREE of advertising for our customers,
collecting information is essential to keeping our services affordable to
organizations that require a web site presence.
We collect personally identifiable information when you provide it to us,
such as when you register on one of our sites, when you subscribe for an
e-mail newsletter, when you register to use certain services or when you
purchase product from Bluto or one of our participating customer sites. Several
of the services that we offer on our sites, such as sports statistics, photo
galleries, credit card processing or product purchases may require registration
as a condition of use. Once you register with one of our Bluto sites you
are no longer anonymous to us. We may also receive information about you
from other sources and add it to the information you provided to us.
2. What is Bluto's practice regarding cookies?
Your Internet browser has a feature called "cookies" which stores
small amounts of data on your computer about your visit to any of our sites.
You do not need to have cookies turned on to visit most of our sites, although
active participation in certain areas of our sites may require cookies. Cookies
alone tell us nothing about who you are unless you specifically give us personally
identifiable information when, in which case we use the information to enhance
your services in the ways described below. You may elect not to allow cookies
to be collected by adjusting your settings on your browser. This may limit
your use of Bluto or one of it's customers' site offerings.
We use technologies, including electronic images known as Web bugs--sometimes
called transparent GIFs, clear GIFs, or beacons--that allow us to track general
user traffic patterns. We also automatically receive and record information
from our servers and from your browser, including your IP address, the time
of your visit to pages on our site, your browser version, operating system
and information about pages you visited as well as your the current screen
resolution, country of origin and your referrer page- or the page where you
entered are site from. Unless you have registered for one of our products
or services, the information we gather through the use of tracking technologies
cannot be matched with any personally identifiable information about you
unless you have specifically given us personally identifiable information,
in which case we use the information to enhance your services in the ways
described below.
We use cookies and tracking technologies in a variety of ways, including:
· Keeping count of return visits to our site or our customers' sites or
our partners' sites
· Accumulating and reporting anonymous, aggregate (data collected in mass),
statistical information on Web site and advertisement usage
· Determining which features our overall user population likes best
· Saving your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you
visit our sites
· Enabling quick checkout functionality in order to improve your purchasing
experience.
· Display the most appropriate content, sports information or product
information based on your interests which is determined from past usage behaviors.
3. How does Bluto use the information?
We use the information we gather for four general purposes:
1. To customize the content you see. (like automatically display your preferences,
sports statistics or products you may deem of interest.)
2. To enhance the user experience in our network of sites. We use tracking
information to determine how well each page performs overall based on aggregate
user demographics and traffic patterns to those pages. This helps us ensure
that our customer sites are compatible with the latest web technology and improve
your overall network experience.
3. To fulfill your requests for certain products and services, such as sending
out electronic newsletters and enabling users to participate in paid services,
polls, voting, bulletin boards, and other services offered by Bluto or its
customers.

4. How does Bluto share the following types of information?
Personally identifiable information
Bluto or organizations utilizing Bluto to host their web sites will make your
personally identifiable information available to other companies ONLY when
:
· We have your EXPRESSED WRITTEN consent to share the information.
· It is required to complete a purchase on of one our sites. (ie. If you
pay for a product or service via a credit card, we have to share your name, address
and credit card information with the sponsoring credit card company in order
to validate the purchase.)
· We have engaged companies to work with us or on our behalf to provide
a product or service that you have requested, such as our customers
· We have been requested to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal
process; or we believe that your actions violate applicable laws, Bluto' Terms
of Use
or any usage guidelines for specific products or services, or threaten the
rights, property, or safety of our company, our users, or others.
Aggregate information
Bluto or customers using Bluto to host their sites may aggregate personally
identifiable information and disclose such information in a non-personally
identifiable manner to customers and other third parties for marketing, promotional,
and other purposes. We do not disclose to these entities any information
that could be used to identify you personally.
Business transfers
Sometimes, one of our customer’s hosted site is purchased by an acquiring
site, company or other organization. In this instance, BLUTO forbids the transfer
of personally identifiable information from Bluto or a Bluto hosted site to
any other acquiring company or site unless the customer or user has given EXPRESSED
WRITTEN CONSENT to transfer the information. DeKemper & Associates LLC
is not responsible for the theft of your personal information through an act
of illegal behavior of a third party or the act. Our web sites are protected
by the 128-bit encryption available to secure our sites and is verified by
Verisign, Inc.- an industry leader in internet security. We are always seeking
to improve our network of Web sites and our business. In accomplishing these
objectives, we may buy or sell a company, or one or more of the companies in
our corporate family may merge with or be acquired by another company. If we
sell a business, we may transfer some or all of your information as a part
of the sale in order that the service being provided to you may continue or
for other business purposes.
5. What are my options?
Users who would rather not provide any of the user data requested by our registration
process do not need to register with us or purchase products from our customers
utilizing Bluto. You can still view much of the content and use many of the
services offered by our sites without registering.
6. How can I update my personally identifiable information?
You can correct or change the information collected during registration for
any of our sites. Your personal information is recorded by site you’ve
registered or purchased from. Hence, you may change your personal information
by logging onto Bluto itself – which keeps a record of all of your purchases
and site registrations for Bluto or customers utilizing Bluto for its hosting
services.
Currently, we do not offer users a means by which to completely delete personal
information established at the time of registration. You may however, de-activate
your registration on nay one of our sites.
7. Privacy of children
Bluto provides a safe, fun, personalized, and informative online community
for connecting businesses, users, players, coaches and families to the products
and recreational services and sports they enjoy. To uphold this community,
Bluto is committed to safeguarding our users' privacy, especially the privacy
of children. (For the purposes of this policy a child is a person 13 years
of age or younger). In general, we discourage the unsecured use or display
of any information (photographic or text). Sites utilizing Bluto Sports are
required to display player, team, and coach statistics via secured pages.
However, the control of unsecured content is the responsibility of the organization
owning or operating the site, and Bluto cannot be held responsible if a Bluto
site publishes personal information (photographic or text) on unsecured pages.
While Bluto uses its own measures to protect the privacy of its child users (Users under 13 must be established by a parent or guardian and must receive parental permission), we also operate our network of sites in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not permit use by, and will not knowingly collect or use personally identifiable information from, anyone under 13 years of age unless permitted by the parent or guardian of the child.
We have posted the Bluto Children's privacy policy to help both children and parents understand how a child's personal information will be treated as that child uses and enjoys a Bluto Sports Web site. This policy may be modified to reflect new changes in online policy, so please check back frequently.
8. Bluto’s commitment
to quality content
Bluto is dedicated to providing our customers and users with an internet
experience that strives to be suitable for people of all ages, ethnicities,
and creeds.
Hence, the display of content on any our customer’s site utilizing
the Bluto Web Application that is deemed to be pornographic, racially, religiously,
or sexually suggestive or offensive is prohibited and will be removed at
the sole discretion of Bluto Company officials or as determined by federal,
state or local statutes or regulations. If you find something on a site offensive,
simply report it and Bluto will review the content for appropriate action.
